It’s been a while, guys. I’ve missed you!
I ran my marathon back in October (hands down one of the BEST races I have ever done) and then… I was over running. I tried for several months to really get back into the swing of things, but I couldn’t. Marathon training really burnt me out. I even signed up for a winter half-marathon I ended up skipping because I trained so poorly (read: barely at all) for it.
I decided to come to terms with the fact I didn’t love running and instead found other things I did love instead. I’ve been taking dance classes & strength training more. I’ve also been eating A LOT of pizza. It’s great!
But now…. race season is about to kick off in Chicago. I signed up for the Shamrock Shuffle and I am READY. Last year’s Shuffle was so much fun, I knew I had to do it again this year. I also really, really want to PR. Last year’s time was 44:44. I think a PR is doable this year, so training starts…. now.
